The EM Digital Voice Recorder - Model A1 does not have any moving parts. This makes it efficient in conditions of shaking, broad band of temperatures and dust content. You can connect the digital voice recorder to a computer using a supplied adapter. DVR types SM utilizes external flash memory and remaining types are built-in flash memory. One of its unique features is the Voice activation system.
This system enables the effective silence compression at the time of recordings and hence, the recording time is extended. Although this feature saves a lot of memory space, it does not save the life of the battery.
Another notable feature of this model is that it is capable of storing the recorded messages to linear buffers. The volume of internal memory is always allocated to the circular buffer. Thus, you can record your message with date/time stamped by the actual time clock. The original software package can operate under Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP. Use this great software to transfer voice and data messages between computer and digital voice recorder. It also saves your voice messages into the hard disk of your computer using standard WAV format.

- Voice Activation System
DVR Edic-mini has Voice Activation System (VAS) which allows effective silence compression during voice recording and thus extending recording time. VAS feature saves memory space, but does not save battery life. For better operation in VAS mode, a user can alter VAS parameters such as level and duration of audio signal.
- Cyclic and/or linear record modes, internal real time clock
DVR Edic-mini can store recorded voice messages to cyclic and/or linear buffers (number and length of independent messages is restricted only by memory size). Any volume of the internal memory can be assigned to the circular buffer. Each message is automatically date/time stamped by the built-in real-time clock as well as accompanied by the recording length and VAS mode status.
- Controls
The recorder controls just by two buttons. All the functions of the buttons as well as the LED indication modes can be completely reprogrammed with a computer using the interface constructor in the supplied software package.
- Software possibilities
Original software package operates under Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP. It allows transferring voice and data messages between the DVR and PC, saving voice messages to PC's hard disk in standard WAV format (for further replay and editing by any third party PC software), synchronize the DVR and PC time and completely reconfigure the DVR's user interface. The voice/data exchange between the DVR and PC can be password protected.
